Can You Get Price Matching On Home Goods At Walmart?

Shopping for home décor or furniture goes hand in hand with searching for great deals, especially if you're trying to stay within a budget. Luckily, many retail giants offer price matching, which gives you an easy route toward saving money. For instance, Walmart, or rather Walmart.com, offers price matching on different types of items, including home goods, but there is a catch and a process.

For starters, the price matching applies to items found specifically on Walmart.com within certain guidelines according to Walmart. In other words, you might find the object of your search at one of Walmart's physical locations, and the same item may be listed at a lower price on Walmart.com. You can have a Walmart associate match the price listed online as long as the item is in stock and is the exact same model, size, color, etc. However, your easiest option is simply to stick with shopping on Walmart.com if you're looking to get a price match approved.

What if you're shopping online?

If you peruse through Walmart.com and another home goods website, and the item you're searching for costs less on the other site than Walmart's, you will gain approval for the price match. You'll need to ensure that the two items belong to the same brand, have the same model or serial number, and have the same exact characteristics such as color, size, and so forth (per Go Banking Rates). Plus, both products must be in stock at Walmart.com and the other website at the same time you request. If everything lines up, then Walmart.com will match the price listed on the online retailer's website.

At the same time, you'll need to be aware of some limitations. Walmart will honor the price match only if you find an item from the list of approved online retailers, including Amazon, Target.com, Sears.com, Newegg.com, Office Depot.com, Babiesrus.com, Staples.com, Bed, Bath, and Beyond.com, and others (via Walmart).

Other limitations include locations where price matching is unavailable, such as Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. The price matching also doesn't apply to special events like Cyber Monday or Black Friday, or any flash sales or closeouts.
