9 Genius Ways To Repurpose A Dollar Tree Broom Holder Around Your House

Every now and again, Dollar Tree carries a product so handy and versatile, one wonders how on Earth they let it go for just $1.25. Such is the case with the Essentials Anti Slip Mop and Broom Holder. This little gadget is the star of countless TikTok videos and YouTube tutorials demonstrating how to use it in various ways around the house. As is often the case with truly ingenious innovations, its design is exceedingly simple. It has a thin rectangular base which can be attached to the wall with an adhesive backing and two holes for optional nails or screws. On the base are two rubber broom and mop handle holders that grip the handles to hold them in place. There's also a fold-out hook in the middle to hold an extra tool or towel. And with these DIY's, it can hold so much more, including cleaning supplies and curtain rods.

Dollar Tree has another version of this hanger designed for garden tools — the Garden Collection Garden Tool Hanger. The design is a little different, but for most of the hacks on our list, either product will work. A few differences to note: The Garden Collection Hanger must be nailed or screwed on as it doesn't have an adhesive back like the Essentials Broom Holder does. Also, the handle grips on the Essentials product feature a rubber strip that wraps around the broom handle, while the Garden Collection hanger utilizes two grip wheels to secure a handle in place. Both have a hook in the middle and are just $1.25. You can easily paint them to match your decor, so grab whichever you fancy (or whichever you can find) for these genius ways to use them around the house.

Back of cabinet door storage

Using Dollar Tree's broom and mop hanger on the back of a cabinet door is a smart way to create extra storage and stay organized. The adhesive back makes it super easy to just peel and stick right on the door. Put one (or a few) in the kitchen, bathroom, or laundry room to hold scrub brushes, cloths, or dust pans. It's amazing what all the rubber broom holders can hold nice and snug!

Renter-friendly curtain rod holders

Want to hang curtains but don't want to screw into the wall? Dollar Tree has you covered. Take the broom hanger and break or cut it in half. This gives you two separate rubber holders — perfect for a curtain rod. Carefully place each half on either side of your window (or whatever you're covering), making sure to attach them vertically so a curtain rod can slide in. But fair warning: The product's packaging says it can only hold up to 4 pounds, so be careful with your rod and curtain selection.

Coffee bar storage

Use a broom hanger for yet another way to increase your coffee station storage with a fun Dollar Tree DIY. Stick the hanger around your coffee and tea station to hold your espresso tamper, matcha whisk, milk frother, or other tools with handles. It could also hold a thin round container for stirrers and espresso pens. Hook on an additional container to the hook for extra storage, or use it to hang a towel, tea infuser, or coffee scoop.

Laundry room drying rack

For this super simple (and super affordable) project, grab this broom handle from Dollar Tree to DIY a hanging drying rack in the laundry room. Like the curtain rod hack, break or cut your product in half and stick the two pieces onto the wall vertically. Attach the broom handle across them and — voila! Hang your clothes on your new drying rack.

Knife holder for the kitchen

Keep kitchen knives safely at your fingertips using a broom holder. Stick the holder on the side of an overhead cabinet, on the backsplash, or even on the side of the fridge. Most knife handles will fit snugly in the holder whichever way you want, so experiment to see which way will best keep your knives safely out of the way. The hook can hold kitchen shears for a clever and frugal cutting station. If you're worried about the knives slipping through, we suggest placing them somewhere where they likely won't cause harm if they fall.

Keep hair tools handy

Dollar Tree's broom and mop holder keeps bathroom counters clutter-free by storing your hair tools. Stick it on the back of the cabinet door or on the wall — anywhere you want to store your brush, curling iron, or straightener. It will hold just about any hair tool except your hair dryer, and you can use the hook in the middle to keep cords tidy.

Organize cleaning supplies

The rubber holders and hook on the Dollar Tree broom hanger also work well for spray bottles and other cleaning supplies. Spray bottles will hold snugly when facing out, but again, be aware of how much weight you put on the hanger. This is a great way to keep harsh cleaning supplies accessible and out of reach from young children and pets.

Store shower essentials

Stick your Dollar Tree broom holder in the shower to hold your daily essentials. It will hold a wide-handle razor, a shower brush, or a squeegee, along with a washcloth, loofa, or anything that can be hung on a hook. Best of all, there are no nails or screws required. Just peel and stick your broom holder to the shower tile.

Keep dirty laundry separate

Try this hack to keep small piles of dirty laundry separate from the rest, like cloths. Pair a broom holder with a Dollar Tree basket or container by attaching it to the hook on the broom holder. Side note: This is a great way to use Dollar Tree storage bins to provide extra storage and add functionality to a broom holder for other purposes around the house!
