Who knew that toilet paper rolls could be the secret to keeping your bathroom essentials organized? With a bit of glue, some fresh paint, and some DIY chops, you can upcycle toilet paper rolls into a washcloth organizer. Forget about the piles of messy washcloths and microfiber cleaning cloths in your bathroom cabinets. It's a great way to keep your cleaning towels organized, and you can even use this DIY to store small hand towels for your guests to use after washing their hands.

The idea is to reuse six empty toilet paper rolls by gluing them together to store rolled-up small towels and washcloths. It's an easy, affordable, and eco-friendly way to upcycle trash into an item you can use to organize your bathroom. Once done, this DIY can be used in a cabinet or on a shelf. It can also be hung against a wall using a towel hanger or something like the JINSHUNFA wall hook

This is an affordable DIY because it doesn't require many supplies. Gather up six empty toilet paper rolls in good condition (still holding their round shape), one or two colors of paint, and a bit of glue. If you'd like to hang it up, you'll also need some thread. Avid DIYers will probably already have these supplies in a craft drawer.

How to create a washcloth organizer with toilet paper rolls

Start by painting your empty toilet paper rolls. You can use one color or two, based on what you have available or what you think looks best. For example, do a dual-color scheme, like in the video, by painting the inside of all of the rolls a different color from the outside. Another option is to decorate the rolls using Mod Podge and decorative paper napkins. This is a creative way to use decoupage in your home

Then, glue the rolls together in a triangle. To do this, use hot glue or some all-purpose tacky glue from Craft County. To hang the organizer on a wall, add a small hole in the toll at the top of the triangle, close to the edge, using a screwdriver or small scissors. Make a loop out of a small piece of thread, like jute twine or a thin ribbon. Insert the two ends of the loop inside the hole and tie a knot. As long as the knot is bigger than the hole, this should do the job, but you can always add a small dot of glue to the hole to make sure it stays in place.

This DIY can also be used to store things other than rolled-up washcloths and towels. For example, the toilet paper rolls can also stand upright in a drawer to hold small items vertically. This can work for hair ties, Q-tips, or toothpicks. You can also experiment with shapes other than a triangle and create a small square or rectangle.
