DIY An Affordable Wine Bottle Stand With A Few Dollar Tree Supplies
Between understanding complex flavor profiles, learning about historic regions, and enjoying social tastings, there's a lot that goes into loving wine. Whether you consider yourself a connoisseur of wine or just a casual enjoyer, having proper storage for your growing collection of bottles is helpful. You've likely seen tons of gorgeous home wine cellars that made you want your own, but not everyone can accommodate such a room. Luckily, a good wine rack or stand is a fine alternative for storing wine at home. Although there are plenty of creative ways to DIY your own stylish wine rack, most of these racks are large, stationary pieces. While that isn't necessarily a problem, if you're looking for a lazy Susan style wine stand that you can DIY with a few Dollar Tree supplies, then this is the project for you. Using two Cooking Concepts Nickel Colored Wire Paper Towel Holders and one Storage Essentials Clear Acrylic Rotating Kitchen Turntable, you can craft a four-bottle wine stand that will look beautiful on your kitchen counter.
Supplies for this project include the materials listed above, a hot glue gun, a bag of zip ties, a rope, and four bottles of your favorite vino. Optionally, you may want to have some spray paint and decorative wine charms on hand. This stand is compact, rotatable, and can easily be tucked away in a tight corner of your kitchen.
How to build a DIY rotating wine bottle stand
To assemble the wine bottle stand, you first need to attach one of the paper towel holders to the rotating kitchen turntable. To do this, you can poke two small holes on either side of the center of the turntable using a hot glue gun, then secure the towel holder in place with zip ties running through the holes you just made. Next, turn your second paper towel holder upside down and attach it to the first one using zip ties or some E6000 glue. Finally, take your rope and wrap it in a spiral around the long part of your paper towel holders, securing it with hot glue along the way. To give this stand less of a homemade look, you can spray paint the entire project with a color of your choice before attaching the rope. Neutral colors like white or black will work well, but choose a color that best fits your kitchen decor. Since there is plenty of room left in the bottom of the wine bottle stand, you can choose to fill it up with some acrylic gems or your favorite wine glass charms to add a decorative touch. Finally, slightly loosen the screw on the bottom of your kitchen turntable, this will help the structure spin easier under the weight of your wine bottles.
Once everything is dry, you can place up to four wine bottles in the stand. If you're not a wine drinker, you can use this wine rack as a clever storage hack in your kitchen for items such as coffees syrups, fancy olive oil bottles, or an assortment of your favorite vinegars.
