A good floral arrangement has the ability to exude extravagance, even if it's on a small budget. All you need are a few thoughtful decorative touches and a strategic approach. And believe it or not, you can create the air of luxury without the price tag that comes along with it. A well-executed arrangement has texture, depth, and balance; in other words, it's more than just adding a few roses and baby's breath to a vase.
You can create a stunning centerpiece for any occasion that doesn't feel cluttered or random using a few selected finds from Dollar Tree that will all ring in under $20. To make it happen, you'll need Weaving Straw Plate Baskets, Multi-Toned River Pebbles, a Clear Round Glass Floral Container, and an Artificial Sunflower Bush (or another floral plant(s) of your choosing). In addition to your Dollar Tree materials, you'll also need E6000 adhesive glue.
Steps to make a DIY Dollar Tree arrangement & customization
To make this eclectic floral arrangement, apply the adhesive to the exterior base of the floral glass bowl. Also, glue the lower edges of the bowl, about a 1/2 inch above the base — you want the sides of the basket to be glued as well. Next, set the bowl on top of the wicker basket, pressing it firmly in place. Once the glue has dried, add your pebbles to the inside of the bowl. Then, cut your flower arrangement as needed, and add it to the bowl. Be sure to slightly bury the stems of your arrangement into the rocks so that they don't tip over.
Make this idea your own by swapping out the artificial flowers and trading them in for real seasonal blooms, or even artificial succulents (which tend to look real). Consider adding flowers or bushes with different heights, colors, and layers to create more depth within the bowl. You can also ditch the bowl completely and use a galvanized bucket or old farmhouse pitcher – just to be sure to use tall arrangements that will still be visible.
If you want to get better at decorating your home with flowers, try experimenting with different textures and heights. Go with nature-inspired elements and fillers, such as small branches, pinecones, flower petals, or items like seashells and colored sand. Find ways to subtly blend these items in with the greenery, adding vibrant specks of eye-catching blues, reds, and yellows to draw attention to the arrangement.
