Homeowner Shares Stunning Shower Curtain To Pair With Floral Wallpaper: 'Love The Texture!'

As someone who suffers from decision paralysis, I can spend hours debating between shower curtain designs to match my perfectly boring white bathroom walls. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to tastefully pair a shower curtain with a bold floral wallpaper. Luckily, millions of Reddit users exist and are ready to help, which is how Reddit user -phototype ended up with a stunning, off-white waffle shower curtain to match their whimsical wallpaper. And, according to one user, they're not the only one to love this combo, "I have the literal exact same wallpaper and shower curtain in my bathroom! Great taste haha!"

It all started with a post to the subreddit Design my Room from -phototrope asking for help choosing a shower curtain to complement their William Morris wallpaper, which features detailed art deco leaves and flowers against a dark green background. I would never have thought of such a darkly bold pattern in a bathroom, but this makes my list of wallpapered bathrooms that make you want to start a renovation.

The citizens of Reddit did not disappoint. The delightfully positive and helpful commentary that resulted ranged from color suggestions — shades of green and yellow pulled from the wallpaper being popular — to many voices saying a solid color with textured fabric is the way to go and one brave user encouraging to lean into the pattern with a William Morris curtain and accessories. I'm a less-is-more person, so I vibe with the ones recommending a solid, textured curtain to play off the pattern. 

Redditor -phototype was kind enough to post an update revealing the final look of the curtain set against the tile and wallpaper. Although I would have chosen the rust color suggestion that matched the smaller flowers in the wallpaper, the cream-colored, woven-cloth curtain that won the competition for how to complete the room is just my style. Its material is simple, homespun, and would look perfectly at home in a day spa. The combination lets the wallpaper be the star of the show, while the lightness of the color keeps the room from becoming cave-like and makes the bathroom wallpaper less intimidating. 

There always has to be at least one naysayer in the group, and one Redditor hated on the combo, saying the casual waffle texture of the curtain wasn't a match for the elevated wallpaper design. If the one downvote on their comment is any indicator, it wasn't a shared opinion. In fact, most commenters loved the texture of the shower curtain and the finished look. One thing everyone agreed on was the beauty of the wall covering. It certainly gives a strong argument for why you need peel-and-stick wallpaper in your home.
