These stackable plastic bins are loved for being a cuter, more compact version of the large totes from the home improvement retailer's in-house brand HDX, while also providing valuable storage solutions for smaller, everyday objects.

The obsession with the 6.5-quart Tough Storage Totes has generated hundreds, if not thousands, of social media videos, with shoppers rushing to Home Depot to grab a few. They come in clear and black, with lids in yellow, red, and white. On the Home Depot website, the Tough Storage Tote line, as a whole, boasts a nearly perfect 4.8-star rating after over 13,600 reviews. At first glance, it's hard to see what makes this container worthier of virality than any other option on the market, but its petite size and quality make-up have attracted quite the fandom, making it one of the best stackable storage bins for organizing your closet's vertical space. 

Although viral online, a search through the overall reviews of Home Depot's Tough Storage Tote line reveals only 21 comments about the 6.5-quart unit. Most of those reviews are five stars, with customers noting the product's impressive quality. One reviewer praised the lid's secure snap system, the box's thick, strong, and waterproof plastic material, and its "perfect size," since "they are not too deep and are plenty roomy." Regarding its sturdiness, another customer said, "These bins are so tough that I can stand on them without them buckling or bending." Their affordable price of $2.50 is another major selling point.

On the product website and all over TikTok, shoppers have shared the different uses they've given their small totes, including storage for LEGOs, toys, snacks, cables and extension cords, tools, machine accessories, small paint cans, beauty products, or porcelain figurines. They're certainly one of the best products at Home Depot to help you organize your garage, closet, cabinets, and craft room. Most users stack them on top of each other on tall shelves, while some print out labels to keep everything all the more organized. Others even customize them with beads, sequins, and stickers, or fill them with goodies to create gift boxes for Christmas, birthdays, and Father's Day.

A few reviews express frustration over the inability to stack these 6.5-quart containers on top of certain other larger totes from the same collection, particularly the 7-gallon model. They can, however, fit neatly on the 27-gallon. Another complaint focuses on the bright yellow lid, but that's easily fixable with a quick DIY paint job.
