Use Dollar Tree Items To DIY Kitchen Countertop Storage That Looks So Chic
When it comes to kitchen storage, you've either got it, or you don't. If your kitchen feels cluttered, you'll have to adjust accordingly, which can mean implementing a multitude of solutions. From adding stands, shelves, and even mobile countertops to organizational hacks, there are pretty much infinite options. If you're looking to increase your kitchen storage, a small countertop shelf for trinkets and decor may be the perfect starting point, especially since you can easily build your own. The best part is that this DIY won't break the bank, as everything you'll need can be found at Dollar Tree.
Go ahead and purchase a Tumbling Tower Game, two Wood Plank Hanging Decor pieces, QC Marble Adhesive Covering — a design like marble can really add an element of class — and four matching picture frames, ideally about 4 inches square. You'll also need hot glue and pliers for this hack. Adding some shelf space may be the perfect trick to rediscovering your countertops — and this project is just the way to do it.
Building a chic countertop shelf
Once you've collected your materials, remove the hanging string from the wood plank and wrap it in the adhesive cover for aesthetic purposes. Next, remove the backing and glass from each picture frame so they are open. Pluck out the rotating prongs as they will no longer be necessary. Then it's time to start gluing.
Take a picture frame and two blocks from the tumbling tower game. Place the blocks in a line together and glue them across the interior of one side of the frame. Take the opposite edge of the frame and repeat this process. Glue a second frame onto the blocks opposite the first. Now that the frames support each other, repeat this with the other two frames. Finally, glue your covered planks across the top of the frames and into place on the bottom. Allow the glue to dry, and you've created the cutest shelf for your kitchen.
You can decorate with small succulents, espresso mugs, and other countertop essentials. It even serves as a genius way to store spices that you use regularly for easy access.
