When you want to save money with summer deals on home and garden products, Amazon Prime Day is a great starting point. The annual shopping event is exclusive to Amazon Prime members and offers significant discounts on many different products, including those that help keep your home in tip-top shape.

One of the biggest Prime Day discounts for 2026 involves Shark, one of the most popular brands in vacuum cleaners. The Shark Cordless Vertex Pro Lightweight Cordless Stick Vacuum (IZ662H) is available during Amazon Prime Day for $230, which is about a 49% discount from its $450 list price.

The Shark Vertex Pro includes a removable hand vacuum, which simplifies reaching into tight corners or for cleaning items above your head. Even though it's a lightweight unit at only 8.8 pounds, Shark claims that it has an impressive runtime from the battery of up to 60 minutes. An average cordless stick vacuum generates 30 to 50 minutes of runtime. The Shark vacuum includes a display that shows you how much runtime you have remaining before the battery needs recharging, which is handy for long vacuuming sessions. The handle can flex and bend, making it easier to reach underneath furniture during cleaning while reducing the amount of storage space required.

Reasons to consider buying the Shark cordless vacuum

Beyond the significant benefit of the savings associated the Amazon Prime Day sale, the Shark Vertex Pro is popular among those already who've purchased it. About 78% of customer reviewers on the Amazon website give the Shark Vertex Pro a four- or five-star rating. One Amazon reviewer was especially surprised with all the different types of debris that ended up in the vacuum's collection bin because of the unit's excellent suction power. The reviewer said it picked up everything from cat hair to litter particles to regular dirt with ease.

One Amazon reviewer appreciated the lightweight design of the cordless Shark Vertex Pro. "The best part is that it's small enough and light enough to make cleaning the stairs a lot less of a chore than with a full-sized regular vacuum," the reviewer said. Another reviewer appreciated the variety of accessories that ship with this model, including a brush for couches and a long attachment for use in tight spaces.

Testers at Consumer Reports gave the Shark Vertex Pro high marks for its performance on bare floors. Reviewers rank it among the best vacuums for vinyl plank floors, hardwood, linoleum, and tile. They also gave it high scores for its effectiveness when dealing with pet hair and when filtering contaminants. One Amazon reviewer agreed with the CR laboratory experts: "Suction is strong, and it picks up dog hair very easily on hardwood floors." It cleans effectively when using it close to a wall, too, according to the Consumer Reports' testers.

Why some customers were disappointed with this Shark vacuum

Even with substantial Prime Day savings, the Shark Vertex Pro may not meet everyone's needs. On the Amazon website, about 11% of customer reviewers gave this model only one star, commonly downgrading it for things like a poor ergonomic design, an uncomfortable top-heavy configuration that places strain on the wrists, and a lack of longevity. "This model makes vacuuming a nightmare and puts undue strain on a wrist and hand to use it," one Amazon customer reviewer said.

Battery life was another common complaint among reviewers. Although Shark advertises up to 60 minutes of runtime, several reviewers reported significantly shorter battery life. "To realistically clean our first floor (mostly hardwood, tile, and wool rug) and the second floor (totally carpeted) will eat up the entire battery," said one reviewer, who still gave the Shark vacuum a five-star rating. The Consumer Reports testers agreed about a shorter-than-advertised battery runtime for the Shark Vertex Pro, as they measured the battery run time when using the vacuum's highest-power mode at 31 minutes. One reviewer claimed to receive only 10 minutes of battery run time, even on standard power mode, while another estimated 15 to 20 minutes of runtime. Consumer Reports measured the battery's recharge time at four hours.
