And hint: it has to do with your bathroom sink, and more specifically, your faucet.
Make sure you clean this hidden spot under your faucet
When it's time to clean the sink, you probably focus on the basin and the faucet. But do you ever look at the faucet aerator? TikTok user Madelyn Combs shared a TikTok tutorial on her account that detailed how to properly clean this sink feature, which is constantly overlooked during chore day. A faucet aerator is a small device that sits at the tip of your faucet and is in charge of creating a steady stream of water. This little gadget ensures that the water doesn't sputter out of the faucet, but flows uniformly (via The Spruce). Since it sits on the tip of the faucet, it is consistently overlooked when cleaning.
In her TikTok video, Combs shares how to properly clean the faucet aerator. She demonstrates how to use a wrench to twist off the aerator, and once it is loosened, the gadget neatly falls into the sink. After the aerator is detached, Combs uncaps the aerator, cleans out the grime from in between the separate parts, and then twists it back onto the faucet. It's a small chore, but a good cleaning habit to get into.
