When And Where Is Trixie Mattel's Renovation Show Trixie Motel Being Released?

Drag star Trixie Mattel is set to star in Discovery's "Trixie Motel." Trixie Mattel, the drag persona and stage name of Brian Michael Firkus, is best known as a contestant on season 7 of "RuPaul's Drag Race" and the winner of season 3 of "RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars."

Trixie has also co-starred in Viceland's "Trixie and Katya" with fellow drag queen Katya Zamolodchikova (Brian Joseph McCook), according to Screen Rant. Trixie and Katya have also co-hosted the Youtube series "UNHhhh" and gone on several tours together, as well as separately. Trixie has released two EPs, "Two Birds" and "One Stone," as well as starred in the documentary "Trixie Mattel: Moving Parts."

Trixie's new venture, "Trixie Motel," is set to air on discovery+ and HGTV on June 1 (via Discovery). The eight-episode series will feature Trixie flipping a motel in Palm Springs with film producer David Silver, Firkus' long-time boyfriend, adding to the many couples hosting HGTV shows.

A Palm Springs drag paradise

"Trixie Motel" is set to air this summer, and all eight episodes will be streamable on Discovery's HGTV channel. Trixie has been teasing pictures of the motel, located in Palm Springs, California, since early November 2021 on the motel's Instagram. In true Trixie fashion, the images are glamorous, retro, over the top, and head to toe pink.

Trixie tweeted about the project in May of 2021, writing, "Palm Springs is getting a facelift in my new @discovery+ renovation series, Trixie Motel. Coming next year, the show will follow me and my famous friends as we create the glossiest Drag motel of your wildest fever-dreams!" The Discovery description teases a pool, bar, and seven themed motel rooms.

Trixie will be renovating the motel along with boyfriend and film producer David Silver, as well as Dani Dazey of interior design firm Dazey Den and apparel line Dazey L.A. With Dazey's eccentric, retro aesthetic, matched with Trixie's retro, extravagant, glamorous pink vibes, the motel is set to be what Distractify describes as a "retro bubblegum pink fantasy."
