Here's Where You Can Visit The LA Mansion From The Holiday

"The Holiday" came out in 2006 and immediately established itself as a staple in both the holiday and rom-com genres. With a star-studded cast including Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, and Jack Black, just to name a few, the film followed Diaz and Winslet's characters as they swapped homes for the Christmas holiday, Diaz bound for a snowy English cottage in the middle of the woods, and Winslet set for sunny California, in a mansion with blackout curtains, a large swimming pool, and located in the luxury neighborhood of San Marino.

The film is a time capsule of the trends of the mid-2000s, with songs on the soundtrack including The Killers' "Mr. Brightside" and Jet's "Are You Gonna Be My Girl," fashion staples like infinity scarves and circle belts, and more gems of the year. However, one of the major stand-out aspects of the film is Diaz's home, which many fans have flocked to as a tourist spot, according to House Beautiful. That's right, the beautiful Los Angeles mansion is a real home in San Marino, and you can visit it (or look at it, at the very least).

Spanish style beauty in San Marino

The home is posted on Zillow, which lists that it has seven bedrooms, six bathrooms and a powder room. It was built in 1928 by the architect Wallace Neff. The over 10,000 square foot Spanish-style home was sold in 2019 for $9.5 million and is now estimated to be worth over $10.6 million.

Other features of the mansion include a walk-in bar, a library, an inner courtyard, private garden, a media room, a private and gated motor court with fountains, another courtyard with fountains in the back, a pool, spa, rose garden, paddle tennis court, and a privately accessed guest suite. The home is just as breathtaking now as it was for Winslet's character in 2006.

A main feature of the mansion in the film was the community surrounding it, and that's no different in real life. In fact, it is located directly across the street from the Huntington Library and is in close proximity to the California Institute of Technology and Lacy Park.
