Which Spider-Man Has The Most Expensive Home?

While Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland weren't the first actors to portray Marvel's friendly neighborhood web slinger, their variations of Peter Parker each played a role in Marvel's record breaking "Spider-Man: No Way Home." The 2021 film, which is now the 6th highest grossing film ever (via Deadline), saw the return of Maguire and Garfield and not only brought them into Holland's Peter's universe, but officially brought them into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Along with the movie's success, a few potential storylines were set up that could allow Maguire and Garfield to return again, but whether or not they do, the actors have all seen a great amount of success while portraying Spider-Man. The U.S. edition of The Sun reported that between 2002 and 2007, Maguire made $36.5 million, while Garfield earned significantly less, making around $1.5 million. He was expected to earn an additional $2 million for a third "Amazing Spider-Man" film, but the movie was never developed. He did, however, earn $1 million for "Spider-Man: No Way Home," along with Maguire.

Holland falls right in between his fellow Spider-Man actors, having earned $15.5 million for his own films and $6.25 million for his additional Marvel films. His earnings, while comparable to Maguire and Garfield, aren't as comparable to some of his other Marvel co-stars. However, despite their differing pay, when considering how much each of the Spider-Man actors have made, it's no surprise that they would spend a decent chunk of their earnings on their homes.

Tom Holland's rumored home

With a number of Marvel movies under his belt, Tom Holland has recently become a household name. First cast to play Spider-Man in 2015, Holland has appeared in the most recent Spider-Man films, as well as "Captain America: Civil War," "Avengers: Infinity War," and "Avengers: End Game." However, despite his success in acting, Holland has expressed some interest in leaving Hollywood behind and entering into the world of real estate.

While appearing on "The Ellen Show" back in 2017, Holland revealed that after years of looking, he had finally bought his first apartment and moved out of his parent's home in London. Although Holland originally planned on moving to Los Angeles, his mother found a two bedroom flat minutes from their home and put in an immediate offer for him. While the apartment has been a perfect fit for him, Holland was unprepared when it came to buying a home and described the process as stressful.

In early 2022, rumors began to spread that Holland and his girlfriend and co-star Zendaya had bought a $3 million home in southwest London. The rumored property included six bedrooms and was undergoing renovations that would add a gym, a home theater, a game room, and a sauna. Not long after the news spread, though, Holland spoke on "Live with Kelly and Ryan" about the rumors being false, explaining that he had no idea how had they originated.

Andrew Garfield's homes

The lead of "The Amazing Spider-Man" film series, Andrew Garfield previously owned a property in Beverly Hills with his ex-girlfriend and co-star, Emma Stone. The former couple bought the cozy four-bedroom, three-bathroom, and one powder room house for $2.5 million in 2012, according to Insider. After years of ownership and adding some personal touches here and there, Stone listed the property for $3.8 million in 2019.

The former couple also rented out an apartment in a multi-family townhouse in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City while filming "The Amazing Spider-Man." The townhouse, built in 1835, consists of five units with a loft space on the top floor and has housed a variety of celebrities. It has been listed multiple times over the years and underwent a handful of price cuts, returning to the market in the summer of 2017 for $18.75 million. It's unclear how much Garfield and Stone paid in rent during their stay, but 6sqft reported that two of the apartments were available to rent between $9,500 and $11,000 per month.

Along with living with Stone, Garfield previously lived stateside with fellow British actors Jamie Dornan, Eddie Redmayne, Robert Pattinson, and Charlie Cox. He has dual citizenship in the United States and England and has resided in North London over the years, although not much is known about his current residence there.

Tobey Maguire's properties

In terms of which Spider-Man actor has the most real estate experience, actor, film producer, and celebrity poker player Tobey Maguire has built up quite an impressive portfolio and has been buying, selling, and flipping properties in Southern California since the 2000s.

According to Dirt, Maguire purchased a plantation-style home in Brentwood, California from former talk show host Ricki Lake in early 2014 for $8.5 million. Maguire flipped the home and sold it a little over a year later for $10.4 million. In 2016, he bought a modern farmhouse in Brentwood Park for $13 million following his split from wife, Jennifer Meyer. That same year, Forbes reported that Maguire had listed a 1920s Spanish-style bungalow in Santa Monica that he and Meyer had purchased in 2015 for $2.7 million and spent a year renovating.

Maguire then purchased a contemporary home in West Hollywood for $3.4 million and after three years, sold the property for $4 million in 2020. In 2019, the actor purchased another home in Brentwood for $6.9 million and in 2021, he sold an acre of undeveloped land for $10.8 million, which he had originally purchased in 2008. Despite receiving a price cut after Maguire first listed undeveloped property in 2018, the lot was still L.A.'s second-priciest land deal in 2021 (via the Los Angeles Times).
