Inside Chrissy Teigen And John Legend's Home

For fans of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, the couple's Beverly Hills mansion is likely recognizable. Often featured on social media, the couple purchased their new home for $17.5 million in November of 2020. Before this purchase, they owned an 8,520-square-foot home previously owned by Rhianna, according to the New York Post. The cookbook author and Grammy Award winner bought the house in 2016 for $10 million, and after four years of living there, listed the property for $24 million in August of 2020. Soon after, the A-List couple fell in love with a larger mansion nearby and have lived in the home since.

Adding the Beverly Hills home to their real estate portfolio, Teigen and Legend have owned a variety of properties in California and New York. With investments totaling over $50 million, they definitely aren't new to the world of real estate. In April of 2020, they purchased a $5.1 million home in West Hollywood and sold two luxury penthouses in New York City's Nolita neighborhood for $18 million, per the New York Post.

Chrissy and John's new built house

Growing by over 2,000 square feet, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend's new contemporary home comes to 10,700 square feet with seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms set on just under an acre of land. Built in 2020, the house is up to date with the latest technology, including built-in smart-home features, a high-tech security system with 16 cameras around the property, and LED mirrors in the bathrooms. The home also includes a gated 6,600-square-foot motor court that can fit up to 15 cars and a garage that can fit four more, per Realtor.com.

Inside the home, Teigen and Legend's renovated entryway has remained relatively the same due to its open layout, high ceilings, and picture windows. However, the couple has transformed the space into an atrium with the addition of a tree, which Teigen spoke with Architectural Digest about. Whether or not it's real, the tree, concrete-like treatments on the walls and ceiling, and new furniture give the entryway and first floor some much-needed character.

A kitchen fit for a chef

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend's latest kitchen is just one of the rooms that underwent renovations. Considering how much time Teigen must spend in the kitchen trying out new recipes for her cookbook line and brand, Cravings, a personalized kitchen is a must-have. Prior to the renovation, the modern kitchen included two islands, per Compass, but had little character and substance to it.

Following the renovations, the kitchen is now warm and inviting with plenty of seating, a large island with a waterfall countertop, a new range hood, and a dramatic stone backsplash on the back wall. The couple also incorporated more storage into the space by adding open shelving that now showcases Teigen's cookbook collection. The duo also updated the living room off the kitchen and made it their own. With access to the dining room and backyard, the open space is ideal for taking a break from cooking and just lounging around.

A cozy place to relax

On the other side of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend's house, the dining room and den share a double-sided fireplace that takes up almost the entire wall. The room also features velvet dining chairs, a dramatic gold light fixture, and a 300-bottle wine cellar and is often the site of Teigen's Instagram photoshoots, along with the entryway and their floating staircase. The den is inviting and relaxing, with plenty of space to stretch out while also allowing for indoor/outdoor living with access to its own covered patio space through glass pocket doors.

The first floor also includes a 500-square-foot home theater with LED lights built into the walls and an office surrounded by vegetation that gives the space plenty of privacy. The office has additional access to the backyard through floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors and built-in walnut shelves that would be the perfect place for Legend to showcase his numerous awards, according to Compass.

A luxurious and spacious master suite

As for the master suite, the spacious bedroom is bright and secluded, with a minimal fireplace, a large seating area, and access to a covered balcony that overlooks the backyard. While it's unclear if Chrissy Teigen and John Legend renovated their master suite, it is likely that they added their own personal touches to the room, especially considering their affinity for warm, earthy, and romantic design elements, which they spoke about in an interview with Architectural Digest.

While their new build has the same number of bedrooms as their previous Beverly Hills home, the couple now has plenty of room for their growing family. Along with their daughter Luna Stephens and their son Miles Stephens, Teigen's mother Vilailuck Teigen, known affectionately as Pepper Thai, has lived with them for years and has even inspired a few of her daughter's recipes. Teigen has additionally expressed interest in adopting, so it makes sense that she and Legend would want to have plenty of extra space for any new additions to their family, per the New York Post.

The family friendly backyard

An ideal place to hang out and cool off on a hot day in Los Angeles, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend's secluded backyard seemingly has it all. With unobstructed views of the city, the canyon, and the ocean, the impressive yard features a 100-foot saltwater infinity pool with fountain jets and a Baja shelf to help the family beat the heat, as well as a built-in spa, according to Realtor.com.

Hidden in the treetops and contained by glass panel railings, Tiegen and Legend's backyard is very family-friendly, with plenty of space for their little ones and pets to run around. The yard also features a sunken fire pit with seating for at least ten people, an enclosed lounge area, an outdoor kitchen, and two outdoor dining spaces, per Compass. With these additions, the backyard seems like it's right up Teigen and Legend's alley, offering the family of five even more indoor/outdoor living space.
