The actor, along with her talent agent husband, Jim Toth, purchased the property in 2020 for about $15.89 million via a trust, per The Wall Street Journal. Represented by Sotheby's Graham J. Larson, the estate was listed in early March for $25 million. On the market for only about a month, the buyer, represented by Compass' Danny Brown, was super interested in the prestigious property, resulting in a $5 million profit for "The Morning Show" star and her family of five.

Built in the 1990s, Witherspoon and Toth renovated much of the home's custom-designed features, including the marble checkerboard flooring, and the entire kitchen.
