Real Estate expert Brittany Picolo-Ramos from "Selling the Big Easy" recently spoke to Realtor about the current housing market and what families can do to successfully purchase a home. As homes are quickly purchased one by one, Picolo-Ramos says you need to be quick and resourceful. Don't go at it alone
Brittany Picolo-Ramos recently said the best way to achieve homeownership is by hiring a real estate agent, according to Realtor. When you find a home suitable for you, it's critical that you provide them with a quick and attractive offer. A real estate agent can lend their expertise to help write up an offer a seller can't refuse. It seems like many other people agree, as 92% of successful homebuyers in 2021 worked with an agent or broker, according to The Close. Luckily, real estate agents are paid through commission of a home sale rather than having the home buyer pay an hourly rate, according to SmartAsset.
However, Picolo-Ramos says you still need to make sure you have a decent-sized down payment to confidently secure a home. Even couples with high incomes are having trouble securing a reasonable down payment, according to CNN. A couple had to go way over their initial budget by offering $50,000 over the asking price — ultimately spending $750,000 on a home that not only needed new windows but a new roof too.
