Here's Where You Can Visit The House From A Star Is Born

If you watched the movie "A Star is Born" recently or when it first came out in 2018, you may already be familiar with the gorgeous house owned by the fictitious singer Jackson Maine. As per People, the character, played by Bradley Cooper, lives in a gorgeous single-story, 2,986-square-foot home. After the film premiered, Curbed Los Angeles found the real-life location of the "A Star is Born" house. Tucked away in the Monte Nido neighborhood of Calabasas at 481 Cold Canyon Road, the rustic charmer was used for filming while it was on the market in the summer of 2017. Though listed for the price of $2.495 million the February before, it didn't sell until eight months later in September.

The mid-century residence was built back in 1973 and designed by American architect Douglas Rucker. Interestingly, he is the same architect who also built a house for Kris Kristofferson, who played the male lead in the earlier version of "A Star is Born" that was released in 1976. In 2015, the Calabasas home received some major renovations by architect Dan Meis. Meis decided to live in the newly remodeled home from 2015 to 2018 before selling it to Eden Wild LLC.

Breathtaking outdoor setup

Lying just on the outskirts of Los Angeles, this property feels secluded, almost as if you're living in a quiet forest surrounded by nature on all sides. The home is enveloped by tall green trees and large shrubs that can be seen from every window. Red bricks outline the exterior walls and sprawl out over the property leading residents to some beautiful outdoor areas including an entertainment area, an outdoor kitchen, a few benches, and a fireplace.

Outdoor lights gently illuminate the human-made paths that are all around the outside space. Under these lights, tenants can enjoy a meal on the comfortable outdoor furniture. In a photo from the listing on Zillow, you can see an adorable treehouse perched at the edge of the property. Even though it appears to be without lighting, it would be the perfect place to relax during the day while reading a good book or sipping your favorite drink.

Nature-centered bedrooms

Inside the "A Star is Born" house there are four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Each of the rooms features large windows looking out over the lush landscape and beautiful warm wood walls and ceilings. Dark wood beams can be found throughout the home which add dimension and a natural feel. Three of the bedrooms offer wooden features that provide tons of storage options with several cabinets, drawers, and shelves. The primary bedroom is configured with unique furniture, like the quirky rocking chair pictured above, and a long lowboy dresser that nearly stretches from one side of the room to the other, as seen in One Country.

The bathrooms have a similar feel with wood used around the showers, on the cabinets, and on the ceiling. They all include tile patterns that complement the brown shades wonderfully. The primary bathroom is the largest featuring a walk-in shower, a jacuzzi tub, and a long double sink with extra storage. One cool feature in this room is the tiled planter box built into the wall above the tub that brings a little bit of the outdoors inside. It's a great addition to one of the only rooms without a window.

A dreamy art studio

The greatest room in this house is the studio. It has its own private entrance and is lined with wood shelves that stretch across two full walls. With lots of room to store books, papers, tools, paints, and other art supplies, there is no telling what someone could create in this room. Just down the hall is another space that currently functions as a library with just as many shelves. The previous owners outfitted the room with a cozy L-shaped couch, a lounge chair, and a unique glass coffee table.

Similar bookshelves can also be found in the main living area. Here, you'll notice a brick fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows allowing for lots of natural light to stream in. Behind the living area is the eat-in kitchen that sits atop a platform covered in red stone tile. The gorgeous granite countertops, as pointed out by People, are likely the first things you would notice before moving on to the updated stainless steel appliances and the cool overhead storage.
