Have you ever watched a movie or show and wondered where they filmed specific locations? For many "This Is Us" fans, that was the case for this iconic home featured in the series' last few seasons. "This Is Us" aired for six seasons from 2016 to 2022 on NBC, via IMDb. It featured a stunning A-list cast of stars such as Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Justin Hartley, and Sterling K. Brown, just to name a few. Now, the home that Justin Hartley's character, Kevin, built for his mom, Mandy Moore's character, Rebecca, is up for sale.
According to Dirt, this home, located in California, was originally owned by actress Alyson Hanigan, who allowed her neighbor and director of the drama show to use her home during the last season. Before Hanigan's and her husband's purchase of the house in 2016, the estate had been featured in other television events, including "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and a super bowl commercial with actor Kevin Hart. Built in 2001, the Encino home was designed by Peter Tolkin and resided on over three acres of land. Five total bedrooms, eight total bathrooms, and many more rooms and amenities reside on this property.
A stunning outside view
According to Compass, the view outside the home is stunning. The most noticeable aspect is the floor-to-ceiling windows that wrap around the property's interior, resulting in the house being mainly constructed of glass. Many extended awnings are located all around the home, specifically in the backyard. While allowing for shade from the hot Los Angeles sun, it also gives the house a more rustic feel that it naturally brings. To enter this very secluded property, one must first drive through a privacy fence and gate.
The backyard consists of a large inground pool and a separate spa. Standing at the main entryway, the refrigerator is located to the left, with cabinets surrounding it. Two dual ovens are mounted on the adjacent wall, and a little down is where the central stove sits. The rest of the room consists of cabinets on the floor with a ton of counter space for other appliances, dishes, and whatever else one may desire.
The dining room doubles as a mini kitchen
The dining room is just as unique as the rest of the home, via Compass. The walls are also white, similar to the kitchen, and the ceiling consists of brown wooden beams that also double as trimming for the windows and doorways. Likewise, the floorings are the same type that is located in the kitchen, as well as the rest of the house. Most of the windows within this room are long and narrow, except for the floor-to-ceiling windows and doors on the left.
The room consists of open space in the middle of the floor for a dining room table that can be almost any size one desires. A fireplace, which also displays brown wood trimming, is located on the side furthest away from the entryway.
