The Unexpected New Luxury Destination For NYC's Elite

The Hudson Valley has gotten a facelift with its recent deluxe developments, and people are noticing. The gorgeous New York state region is quickly becoming a hotspot for NYC's elite looking to get away for the weekend. It has seen the opening of several luxury hotels within the past few years, including Inness, an upscale hotel and member's club, The New York Post states. According to Inness, one night's stay at the hotel will cost you upwards of $730. Guests can purchase a year-long membership for $1,800. For an additional $4,200, guests are granted unlimited access to the club's golf course, which spans 220 acres.

Because of its ritzy new amenities, the Hudson Valley's housing prices skyrocketed 24% in 2021, averaging at about $461,000, according to The Post. Of course, this is nothing compared to the colossal cost of purchasing a home in the Hamptons, but it's still hefty considering the region's modest past. Should you have the opportunity to visit the valley, there are endless swanky places to stay. Here's a look at a few.

Silo Ridge Field Club

Opened in 2017, the Silo Ridge Field Club is a housing community in the Hudson Valley, located about 90 minutes outside New York City. The community is known for being environmentally friendly, housing a three-acre organic farm that offers residents the farm-to-table experience, according to the Silo Ridge website. The gated community includes 245 residences, a lake, boathouse, equestrian and wellness facilities, pool, an event lawn, and an 18-hole golf course, which all span over the club's massive 850 acres. So, what does this lavish lifestyle cost? Condominiums start at $2.6 million, and single-family homes begin at $3.5 million, according to Forbes.

One of the newest features at Silo Ridge is "The Barn," a new activity center that can be transformed to accommodate several activities at the club. The Barn comprises a casual dining space with both private and communal tables for residents. It's the best space to hold movie nights, watch sporting events, and listen to live music.

Glenmere Mansion

Situated on a luscious 150-acre estate is Glenmere Mansion, one of the most exclusive resorts in the Hudson Valley. Built in 1911, the Tuscan-style mansion offers guests a luxurious and relaxing stay with its seemingly endless amenities and activities. According to Glenmere Mansion, the hotel and spa offer guests an outdoor heated pool, fitness center, two Har-Tru tennis courts, two Har-Tru bocce courts, a large whirlpool, and a championship croquet court. The mansion has 18 rooms, but don't expect to find any two rooms that are the same. Town & Country states each room's aesthetic in the Glenmere Mansion differs from the next.

Keep in mind that this type of opulence doesn't come cheap. A standard, Queen-sized room at the hotel runs anywhere from $675 to $825 a night, and the penthouse will cost you $2,575 for one night alone. Oh, and parents? This is an adults-only resort, so take some "you" time and leave the kids at home.
