How HGTV Fans Really Feel About Page Turner Replacing Hilary Farr On Love It Or List It

Before filming her final season of HGTV's "Love It or List It," Hilary Farr gave an exclusive statement to People in late 2023 and reflected on her time on the series that's been around since 2008. "I've given it so many years of my life...It's gotten me through hard times. It's got the audiences through hard times. It has evolved into a mainstay of people's lives and it's been incredibly gratifying. But now it's time for me to move on and meet new challenges." And she has continued to challenge herself professionally. She is working on her design firm, Hilary Farr Designs, and you can still see Farr on HGTV where she hosts "Tough Love with Hilary Farr." 

Meanwhile, it was also a new chapter for "Love It or List It," as real estate broker and HGTV host Page Turner was named Farr's successor. Turner shows off her house-flipping expertise on shows like "Flip or Flop: Nashville," "Rock the Block," and "Fix My Flip." However, her first season of "Love It of List It" (the show's 20th), that just wrapped up in June 2025, saw a notable drop in viewership to previous seasons with Hilary Farr. This proves that longtime fans haven't fully connected with the new duo's dynamic. Of course, it's natural for viewers to need time to adjust to a new face, but here's the real question: how are super fans of the show reacting to Page Turner's first season? 

The overall viewership may have dipped, but many fans of the show are giving Page Turner a fair shot. A fan on the HGTV subreddit shared, "I binged the new season's episode of the show with Page, and I have to say I am very pleasantly surprised. Both her design choices/ideas and the way she interacts with the clients. She is direct but sympathetic at the same time. I admit I have a soft spot for Hilary because she started the show, but I think Page is a wonderful addition thus far," and more than a hundred fans agreed. One fan even replied, " I agree. Page is not as confrontational or condescending as Hillary tended to be. Her interaction with David is just as good, considering their short time together." 

And fans didn't stop there. Page Turner took to Instagram to wish her new co-host David Visentin a happy birthday, and the comments section was filled with praise for how well the duo complemented each other and how much they were enjoying seeing the two hosts together. 

But, as with any major changes, not everyone is on the same page. Some viewers expressed reservations about the new dynamic and a few even said they may quit watching the show due to the lack of chemistry between the co-hosts.

Most fans were elated to hear a familiar face would be joining "Love It or List It," but there were also fans left feeling skeptical — especially after watching the new duo. HGTV announced "Love It or List It" was renewed for another season in August 2025, and some viewers weren't too excited to hear the news. One user replied via Facebook, "Hilary and David were better!!," and another put it simply, "It's not the same without Hilary." 

The mixed feelings for Page Turner doesn't come as a complete surprise. Even before the new season aired, some fans were concerned about her past behavior on the network's other shows, specifically "Rock the Block." On a Reddit discussion regarding Turner replacing Hilary Farr, one fan said, "I hope she isn't as rude to the homeowners as she was to fellow contestants on Rock the Block. She was so arrogant!" 

And they weren't alone in this sentiment. When another fan shared how they had enjoyed watching her on "Rock the Block," another user replied, "The one where she was a sore loser and talked trash about everyone else?" Yikes, but with all of that said, it's worth mentioning a lot of the cast of "Rock the Block" were playful with their banter. And wasn't it the cheeky rivalry that gave Hilary Farr and David Visentin their chemistry? Her first season may have viewers divided, but Page Turner's journey on the show is just beginning.
