If you're looking for some creative ideas for a unique coffee table, we have a treat for you. This coffee table is a stunning piece of furniture made from glass bricks that appears to defy the laws of physics. Glass is still a hot design trend this year, and this DIY coffee table made entirely from glass bricks will be a timeless and sophisticated addition to your living room.
To make the coffee table, you'll need 14 square glass bricks and four corner joints. If your glass bricks are painted around the edges, remove the paint by scraping it off using a steel wool scrubber. This will allow light to flow through the bricks and create a more seamless look. Once all the paint is off, clean the bricks thoroughly using 99% isopropyl alcohol to remove greasy residue that can prevent the glue from bonding the glass surfaces properly. You'll be building your coffee table lying on its side.
Create two table legs by gluing four bricks into a square, applying two neat rows of Gorilla Max Strength Transparent Construction Adhesive along the raised edges of each tile, and joining them. Wipe each joint as you go for a neat finish, and use tape to hold them in place while the glue dries. Next, attach the two corner pieces to each leg. The top of the coffee table is a rectangle formed by six bricks in two rows of three. Continue attaching the blocks by working systematically, wiping and taping as you go. Once the glue dries, remove the tape, and your coffee table is ready to be used.

Another coffee table option using glass bricks is to create a complete square with four blocks on each side, joined with corner blocks. Add a solid safety glass pane as a top. This sneaky design creates a hollow section in the middle of your coffee table, which is the perfect place to add some light. Pick something simple, such as the Wiheajuora Vintage Table Lamp, to create a warm glow. If the light through the plain glass top feels a bit stark compared to the muted light through the bricks, create a layer of interest by covering the glass with iridescent, transparent mosaic tiles. Use Gorilla Glue to stick them down and to fill the gaps in between, as it can be used as caulking.
Organically shaped coffee tables using glass bricks are also possible. Buy more corner pieces than squares and play around with different layouts and shapes before gluing. Go for an oval or circular glass top to complete the look. If you're looking for something a little more darkly dramatic, you can use Yutianli Black Transparent Ice Crystal Patterned Glass Blocks to create your coffee table. While the original was made with squares, these blocks are rectangular, so you can adapt the size and shape to be the perfect coffee table for your home. The blocks also come in blue, purple, pink, and transparent. As this range doesn't have corner blocks, your table will have a crisp, rectangular shape.
