Dolly Parton Is Renting Out Her Gorgeous, Decked-Out Tour Bus For $10,000

If you've ever wondered what it would be like to live like a musician on tour in one of those decked-out tour buses that pack plenty of luxury into a small space, you're in luck — especially if you're a Dolly Parton fan. According to the New York Post, fans now have the opportunity to rent out Parton's former tour bus. The bus, called Suite 1986, is located at the Dollywood DreamMore Resort & Spa in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

The tour bus sleeps two, and staying there will cost you $10,000 for a two-night stay. However, there is one perk — in booking the bus, you'll also get a guest room at the DreamMore Resort that can sleep up to four guests, so you'd actually be able to accommodate a relatively large group. Although, you may have to battle it out for who gets the privilege of sleeping on the bus and soaking in those Dolly Parton vibes. And though the price tag seems steep, note that Parton has decided to donate a portion of the profits from reservations to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and the Dollywood Foundation, so you'll be supporting a few of her beloved charitable causes.

Read on to learn more about this unique tour bus, nicknamed the "Gypsy Wagon" by Parton and her crew, which is packed with ornamental details, custom illustrations, sparkles, pink, and of course, plenty of glamour.

Pink details hint at what's inside

From the outside, the tour bus doesn't look all that unique. It has reflective chrome panels stretching along the bottom half of the bus, paired with soft gray panels elsewhere on the body and tinted black windows. However, a few details offer a hint at what's to come once you enter. After all, Parton and her sister customized the bus as a one-of-a-kind space reflecting the starlet's personality and spirit.

The first exterior details are subtle, feminine pink scripts with Dolly's name on the side and front of the bus. And there's a tiny hot pink carpet leading up to the door, so you'll get the full celebrity experience on the 45-foot-long bus, as per the New York Post. You'll undoubtedly be walking in her footsteps — Parton toured for 13 years on the bus, which traveled nearly 400,000 miles as it took her from one iconic performance to another.

While it may seem strange to have the bus parked right on the resort property, it is located within a gated area so that you won't have visitors constantly streaming past the bus. Additionally, the combination of tinted windows and shades that can be drawn down over the front windows means you'll get plenty of privacy. And, you'll be able to enjoy the views of the resort through the various windows in the space, deciding where you'll go exploring when you're not kicking back on the bus.

Lounging in style

As seen in a video tour by YouTuber "Adventure Is Out There," when you first walk up the steps, you'll see the standard driver's seat and all the necessary equipment since the bus was once a functional touring bus. However, once you get past that, you immediately see all the changes Parton has made to customize the space.

There's a dining area with a curved booth with a few different goodies displayed on it, which anyone staying will have the opportunity to take home with them, including some albums and other Parton-related trinkets. Decorative details, such as fringe along the windows and a few accessories, add to the ambiance. And there's a TV across from the dining area and a full-size refrigerator and microwave in the nearby kitchen so that you can whip up your favorite Parton-themed snacks and meals.

Moving down the bus hallway, there are a few bunk beds where some of Parton's employees stayed while touring. However, she decided to rip out several of the other bunk beds to create a closet where some of her iconic pieces could be displayed. Several pieces are on the bus, from sparkling high-heeled shoes to stage outfits that are larger than life. Guests will have the opportunity to take home a luxurious robe as another token of their stay.

Get glam and treat yourself

As you approach the back of the bus, you're fully in Parton's domain, with the main bathroom and the bedroom suite at the back creating a private haven for the starlet — and the guests staying on the bus.

Per the YouTube video tour, there's a shower and bath with a frosted glass door. Across from that is the remainder of the second bathroom, which features all the necessary amenities, including a toilet, sinks, and countertops with the same sparkling design found in the kitchen countertops. And, of course, there's some fringe detailing, jewels on the wall, and plenty of other feminine details.

The main suite at the back is painted pink, accentuated with tassels along the windows and hand-painted designs on the walls. Given the moniker of the "Gypsy Wagon," Parton commissioned paintings of wagons, crystal balls, and wandering travelers that can be spotted throughout the bus, according to the New York Post.

There's a small vanity area in the suite where Dolly would get ready, and you can sit in her shoes and get glammed up while perched in the same spot. Large windows on either side of the suite make the room feel bright and spacious. A bed with a pink upholstered headboard and pink bedding takes up a good portion of the space, and there's even a mounted television so you can watch your favorite Dolly flicks while lounging in bed.
