It's no secret that when HGTV stars get ahold of a home to renovate, higher property values can be expected. How do we know? Well, for example, the Barndominium home was scooped up for a measly $128,000 and listed for $1.2 million after Chip and Joanna Gaines renovated it, per Insider. The same thing happened with the Shotgun House the duo completed, which was purchased for $28,000 and listed for a cool mil (via Curbed). Heck, HGTV even bought and renovated the "Brady Bunch" home ― one of Hollywood's most iconic TV homes in 2018 for $3.5 million for "The Very Brady Renovation" show, notes House Beautiful.

HGTV's 2021 Dream Home in Rhode Island
Without fail, every year, we take entering HGTV's Dream Home contest seriously, making sure to submit our entries daily. Alas, while we haven't won ... yet, there's still hope. And if you don't want to wait for your opportunity to win a dream home, you could always wait for one to come on the market just as the 2021 HGTV Dream Home did! According to Realtor.com, the house is located in Portsmouth, RI, at 470 Vanderbilt Lane, just 10 minutes from the vacation hotspot of Newport. It sold on July 2, 2021 for $2,751,000.
The home is the ideal 3,300 square foot Cape Cod-style and has enough room for a large family with four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and 1.32-acres in all, according to House Beautiful. Winner Jeff Yanes of Kyle, Texas, said of the win in a statement, "I didn't believe it was true. It's one of those things you just enter and never expect to win. I thought someone was messing with me."
Now, what about the views? Not to worry, the home is right in front of the Sakonnet River, so you can check those water views off of your list and imagine sitting with a cup of Joe or a cocktail on the home's rooftop for those epic sunrises and sunsets. As for the price, all of the furnishings were included, so the new owners had nothing to do but move right in!
HGTV's sweet Craftsman Bungalow from Home Town Takeover
It's true, some of our favorite HGTV shows are hosted by couples, and if you're a fan of Ben and Erin Napier of "Home Town Takeover," then you aren't alone. The couple is pretty inspirational if you ask us, not only renovating homes and businesses but changing the dynamic of entire towns. You may remember a sweet 2,018-square-foot home at 1028 Euclid Avenue built in 1924 in Laurel, Mississippi, during Season 2. If you're looking for affordability (and who isn't), then this listing would have been for you. The property has just two bedrooms and two bathrooms; however, it does have an office that could double as another bedroom, so it's perfect for those who want to downsize or have smaller families, according to HGTV.
The kicker? Per Red Fox Realty, the home was listed and sold for just $187,000, and that is after renovations, which included a complete revamp of the kitchen, bathrooms, exterior, and charming porch area, where we'd enjoy hanging out every single day.
The Rock the Block Home designed by Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent
HGTV's "Rock the Block" is a competition show that gives designers and rehabbers six weeks to finish off a three-story house from top to bottom with a $225,000 budget. Season 2 was hosted by Ty Pennington and featured some incredible design teams vying for a win for the best home, including Nate Berkus and husband Jeremiah Brent of HGTV's "Nate and Jeremiah: Save My House". Though they didn't win, Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt of "100 Day Dream Home" did. However, the Dallas, Georgia home at 1569 Dabbs Bridge Road they designed quickly sold after only 42 days on the market in April of 2021, as noted by Zillow.
According to Realtor.com, the home was purchased for $635,000, which was the total asking price. The outlet noted what made the 4,120-square-foot stand out for buyers: It was the brick that was added to the home's exterior. "We've seen a lot of the local architecture, and it's usually brick just on the front of the house and then siding on the backs. But brick you never have to replace. It's forever," explained Berkus. Per People, other notable parts of the six-bedroom house included the home theater and screened-in porch; the basement was also a major draw. The design duo renovated it to be another two-bedroom living space with a separate entrance and its own kitchen, making it an ideal sanctuary for guests.
HGTV's Fixer Upper Mid-Mod House
During Season 2, Episode 9 of "Fixer Upper," we found ourselves falling for the Mid-Mod Home. In a House Beautiful video interview with owners Jill and Josh Barrett, the couple takes us on a journey from when they bought it to the beautiful massive renovation completed by Chip and Joanna Gaines. In the video, Jill said, "Joanna is probably the only person that I would trust to just take on a house that I had. We do a lot of renovations ourselves; we have a lot of real estate, and we stumbled upon this house, and we literally made an offer that day. We walked in, and it was just this Zen experience."
While the home isn't on the market, we can gather its daily worth as it's a property you can rent out on VRBO for $305 a night. According to the listing, the 2,750 square foot property is located in the Mountain View neighborhood in Waco, Texas. It has seven bedrooms, three bathrooms and can accommodate up to 12 guests.
The Flip or Flop San Clemente House
Per Realtor.com, the San Clemente house seen during Season 11 of "Flip or Flop" initially didn't sell, so the outlet deemed it a flop. However, that all changed on January 1, 2021, notes Estately, when the home with breathtaking views located at 4003 Calle Bienvenido in San Clemente, California, sold for a whopping $2,050,000. That's quite the profit, considering Tarak El Moussa and Christina Haack purchased the property for $1.05 million.
The four-bedroom, three-bathroom home boasts 2,302 square feet, but that isn't the main draw: We have to think those ocean views sealed the deal. The couple splurged on bifold doors so that buyers can enjoy those views from the comfort of their living room. According to Realtor.com, this renovation wasn't without hiccups, including structural issues. The couple spent an enormous sum on fixing it up — $333,200 in all — but as you can see, these costs ended up working out in the former couple's favor.
